we are somewhere in the north east…
all of the states here are so small you never know exactly where you could be…
we played our last date with the guys in Mission Hill and Shinobi Ninja.. it was def a sad event… but I am confident we will be back on tour with those guys again VERY soon.
now we are in the middle of a 16 hour drive to Columbia, South Carolina… playing a show at New Brookland Tavern, one of my favorite venues in SC.
I have to admit that before leaving on this tour I was in a really stressful place… with 2 of our close friends and amazing musicians leaving us, it was nerve wracking trying to sonically fill the holes they left. But, we are surprisingly sounding tighter than ever and I couldn’t be happier about it.
well, only a few more shows until we are back home… get some southern comfort food ready momma! ;)
hope this reaches everyone well.
SF
so excited…….. about 10 more mins in this train and I’ll be in one of my favorite places in the world….
and better yet, we get to play in Brooklyn tomorrow with some of the best musicians and all around people I’ve met on the road (that being Shinobi Ninja and Mission Hill)..
Its been about 2 weeks since we started this tour and I’m already not looking forward to it to end… I say we all just keep going til we are 45, on our fourth divorces, and going through mid life crises.
Moments like these make me remember why I am broke as hell and go through it…. because I love it. More than anything.
alright.. so we are two days in on our “Rock the Coast” tour with Shinobi Ninja and Mission Hill…
for those of you who have never toured before, let me tell you what its like to go on tour with a couple bands full of assholes… TERRIBLE!!!!
HOWEVER!! the guys in both of the bands mentioned above are some of the coolest, most down to earth people the guys in SOABM and i have ever had the pleasure of sharing the stage with… everyone involved with this tour just has a love for music and putting on a show.. its so damn refreshing i have to say..
so, luckily, today we have a day and a half off at home in Jacksonville.. then its back to the grind, hittin up Gainesville, Palatka, and then back to Jacksonville for a hometown show..
these are gonna be the first shows that our new bassist, Brett Barley, will be joining us on and we couldn’t be more ecstatic over that.
well, time to do some laundry… hope everyone is doing well, and hopefully i’ll see a lot of you ladies and gents soon! =)
can we stop fooling ourselves?
there’s a tension and its between you and me
its like the crowd in this room disappears
and you’re the only girl i see
i know we don’t have much time
love is not a perfect rhyme
its jagged and serrated
but it surely beats sleeping alone
you keep twistin up my heart
like a modern work of art
and all these scenes play like a movie in my brain
at your house, at the park, in the backseat of my car
i might go crazy if we don’t stop playing this game
i can’t promise you perfection
but through the worst i will stand by your side
and i won’t leave this bed
until i know you are fully satisfied
i know we don’t have much time
love is not a perfect rhyme
we might be cynical and jaded
but you know i’d trade all of that for you
you keep twistin up my heart
like a modern work of art
and all these scenes play like a movie in my brain
at your house, at the park, in the backseat of my car
i might go crazy if we don’t stop playing this game
i know you’re scared
of when the thrill of the chase you subsides
you think that this
will only last for one night
but you’ll never know
until you really try
i swear, touring is the most addictive drug known to man!!!
now that we have found our new bassist, we are ready to go out on tour with our good friends in Mission Hill (www.myspace.com/missionhillband) and Shinobi Ninja (www.myspace.com/shinobininjamusic)
should be a really great time.. i’m gonna bring some sort of camera this time and take photos from the road, and if i feel technologically apt, i will upload them on here.
brad, on the other hand, will be in charge of our flip video camera, so that kind of scares me in terms of what kind of footage we will get from this tour. hahaha!
